População e Sociedade
Presentation
População e Sociedade (Population and Society) is a journal published by CEPESE – Population, Economy and Society Research Centre, since 1995. Initially published once a year, since 2015 it is published every six months and exclusively in digital format. All issues of the journal are replicated on RCAAP, the Portuguese Open Access Scientific Repository, thus ensuring a greater dissemination while safeguarding its contents. In order to ensure its absolute independence, População e Sociedade does not include any paid or free advertising. The journal is accessible for free to all readers and does not charge publication fees to the authors. Each issue comprises two sections, Thematic Dossier and Varia, the latter aimed at articles addressing topics not included in the issue's main theme.
Aims and scope
Indexed in international scientific journals evaluation systems (ERIH and LATINDEX) and integrating SciELO Portugal, População e Sociedade is devoted to Social and Human Sciences, its areas of choice being History, International Relations, Political Science, Tourism, Cultural Heritage, Demography and Migrations. Its main objective is the publication of original research-based articles, from Portugal and abroad, preferably in Portuguese or English. In line with the purposes of CEPESE's scientific mission, the journal intends to be a space for the dissemination, discussion and development of interdisciplinary works by the scientific community, reaching the greatest possible audience, both from the academic world (professors, researchers, students) and the general population, thus contributing to the promotion of critical thinking in the field of Social and Human Sciences.
