Southern Europe / South America Emigration
After a decade of research by Portuguese, Brazilian, Spanish and Italian researchers, CEPESE decided to create a digital network that integrates and articulates the research centres, institutions and researchers of the two regions concerned with the study of the great international migrations that took place between the two continents.
The construction of this network therefore seeks to create a new space for close cooperation, reflection and exchange of ideas, knowledge and experiences through new technologies, in order to deepen, problematize, innovate and disseminate scientific research in an area which is essential for the understanding of a cultural heritage common to the two regions, an inescapable matrix of society, economy, culture and mentality of the countries of Southern Europe and South America to the present.
In order to set up this network, CEPESE invited, in the initial phase, the universities, institutes and centres with which it has already established collaboration protocols, and other entities that are concerned with this objective and have expressed their intention to join and, finally, researchers who have already collaborated or intend to collaborate with us.
The network is available at www.remessas.cepese.pt, offering several databases and hundreds of studies on this issue.
