The Revenue of the Archbishop of Lisbon in 1465-1466
In this paper, we analyse and publish a yet unknown account of the revenues collected by the archbishop of Lisbon in 1465-1466 kept in the British Library. When combined with other sources, this document contains new information about the control and management solutions developed by Portuguese dioceses. Also, the quantitive information it contains provides a rare window into the structural changes that agrarian output underwent in Portugal after the Black Death.
