International Seminar “Challenges of Humanitarian Action Today”
On May 20 and 21, the International Seminar “Challenges of Humanitarian Action Today” will take place, promoted by Universidade Fernando Pessoa in partnership with several national and international institutions, including CEPESE.
The World Humanitarian Summit, held in Istanbul on May 23 and 24, 2016, marked a historic moment by bringing together, for the first time, representatives from around the world to rethink the global humanitarian system in response to the unprecedented rise in humanitarian crises and forced displacement. Ten years later, these challenges have become even more complex and urgent.
In this context, the seminar aims to provide a space for reflection and debate on the achievements made since then and on the paths that need to be built for the future, involving university students, civil society organizations, NGOs, and other actors connected to humanitarian action.
The event is intended for students of the Master’s Degree in Humanitarian Action, Cooperation and Development, as well as students from other study programmes at Universidade Fernando Pessoa, researchers, humanitarian professionals, and anyone interested in the topic.
Participation is free of charge.
