CPLP: Rule of Law, Human Rights, and Democracy

This research project aims to study the real dimensions of the evolution of political-diplomatic alignment between states within the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP), particularly through the activities of the Permanent Consultation Committee, focusing on three interrelated main aspects: the promotion of the rule of law, the dynamics of the CPLP National Human Rights Institutions, and the development and promotion of democratic mechanisms (electoral systems, party pluralism, political participation, etc.).

Since its beginning in 2018, this project has achieved several notable milestones. In addition to preparing various scientific articles for publication, the first International Congress on Humanitarian Action and Development Cooperation took place in June 2019, in partnership with CEPESE and the University Fernando Pessoa. The second Congress was held in June 2022, with IGADI also participating as an institutional partner. The activity plan for the coming years includes the third International Congress on Humanitarian Action and Development Cooperation, scheduled for 2024.
