Digital preservation of the Minutes of the Municipal Council of Guarda

As a priority for the Municipality of Guarda, this research project primarily aimed at the digital preservation of these documentary series.

With the Municipal Archive of Guarda consisting of a limited collection and few documents surviving to the present day, there was a significant gap in terms of the preservation of the history and memory of the Municipality. Over the course of two years, CEPESE digitized nearly two hundred Books of Meeting Minutes of the Municipal Council, spanning from the mid-19th century to the present. The goals were to digitally preserve this information and to make it electronically available through the Municipal Council, in order to provide a better access for researchers and the general public to this valuable information. The work was delivered to the Municipal Council of Guarda in 2021.
