21st Century – A New Energy Era? Energy and Environment as Vectors of Transformation in International Relations in the 21st Century

This project aimed to characterize potential developments in the geoeconomic and geopolitical environment of regions supplying oil and natural gas to Portugal, assess supply security issues, and conduct a scenario exercise on possible national energy security strategies.

This project, funded by the Ministry of National Defense, aimed to characterize the possible distinct developments in the geoeconomic and geopolitical environment of regions that may potentially supply oil and natural gas to Portugal by 2025. It seeks to evaluate Portugal's energy supply security, considering the primary risks and to conduct a scenario exercise on possible national energy security strategies from three perspectives: supplier countries, business alliances, and technological options.
