21st Century – A New Energy Era? Energy and Environment as Transformation Vectors of International Relations in the 21st Century

This Project, which is funded by the Ministry of National Defence, aims at characterizing possible different evolutions of the geo-economic and geopolitical factors of regions that are potential suppliers of oil and gas to Portugal, in a time frame from the present time up to 2025; assessing issues concerning security of energy supply to Portugal taking into consideration the main risks deriving from the previous point; and carrying out an exercise of scenario analysis on possible national energetic security strategies from three angles: supplier countries, business alliances and technological options.
