2nd Conference - Economy, Development and Globalization (EDG-2024)
If we analyze the number of patents of Portuguese origin registered at national and European level, we see that in 2021 they amounted to 208 and 116, respectively. This reality is supported by the research carried out by 59,160 researchers, 26,537 companies and 29,766 higher education institutions, which meant a total investment in 2022 of 4,124,124.4 thousand euros, corresponding to 2,566,389.3 thousands euros by the business sector and 1,284,191.4 thousand euros by higher education institutions.
The objective of the conference is to foster a broad debate on Research & Development and how multiple agents, especially companies and higher education institutions, develop and apply it in economic development, whether local, regional or global, contributing to business development, and, ultimately, to social well-being. The topic under discussion covers all areas of knowledge, particularly with regard to Business Sciences; Economy; Political Science and International Relations; Criminology; Psychology; Medicine and other Health Sciences; Architecture and Engineering.
The event will take place on March 18th, 2024, in the Salão Nobre of Universidade Fernando Pessoa and also online.
