1st International Congress on Humanitarian Action and Cooperation for Development
The World Humanitarian Summit in May 2016, organized by the UN, highlighted the urgency of rethinking humanitarian action. Several challenges have emerged: coordination among international and non-governmental organizations, greater respect for humanitarian standards, and a humanitarian response more aligned with development perspectives. This congress, co-organized by Fernando Pessoa University and CEPESE, will bring together various stakeholders to rethink humanitarian action, both in traditional clusters and in new areas such as the use of new technologies. It will be a unique opportunity to share best practices, build bridges between academic experts and field professionals, at a time when the qualification and quality of humanitarian action are also prominent issues.
The event will not be purely theoretical. In addition to lectures, there will be workshops on best practices and field visits.
