4th International Congress of Political Science and International Relations
Organised by CEPESE researchers Ana Campina, Carlos Rodrigues and Sandra Bernardo, the 4th International Congress on Political Science and International Relations will take place on 20 April at the Noble Hall of Fernando Pessoa University.
This year's conference will focus on “Geopolitics and the New World Order”, arising from the current context of profound transformation and uncertainty in international geopolitics.
The global system, once dominated by a liberal and multilateral order, is now fragmented, featuring multiple centers of power, high-intensity regional conflicts, and a crisis of international governance. The rise of new alliances, the intensification of rivalries among great powers, the impacts of climate change and the energy transition, as well as technological advancement and the proliferation of hybrid threats, are shaping a scenario of unprecedented risks and opportunities.
This Congress provides a comprehensive analysis of the current state of international geopolitics, addressing the main ongoing conflicts, the most relevant strategic alliances, the role of major powers, the effects of climate change and the energy transition, the nuclear race, cybersecurity, the global economy, regional dynamics, and the trends that will define the future of the world order.
