Book launch: The Diocese of Guarda at the time of the Constituent Courts (1821-1822)

As part of the celebrations of the 825th anniversary of the city of Guarda, this book, authored by CEPESE researchers Fernando de Sousa, Ricardo Rocha, Diogo Ferreira and Bruno Rodrigues, seeks to characterise the Diocese of Guarda during a particularly important period in the history of Portugal, the transition from the Ancien Régime to Liberalism, which had obvious and lasting consequences for the Church and profoundly affected its structures and prerogatives.

The launch will take place at ExpoEcclesia, starting at 9pm, and the book will be attended presented by the Mayor of Guarda, Sérgio Costa, and the Bishops of Guarda and Setúbal, Manuel Felício and Américo Aguiar, respectively.
