Launch session of the Dictionary of Political Science and International Relations

The Dictionary of Political Science and International Relations will be launched on 20 May at 6pm in the auditorium of the Fernando Pessoa University, with a presentation by the Minister of Internal Affairs, José Luís Carneiro.

Coordinated by Fernando de Sousa, Pedro Emanuel Mendes, Judite Gonçalves de Freitas, Diogo Ferreira, Ricardo Rocha and António Tavares, this is a collective work, published by Almedina, which aims to play an important role in understanding the main scientific content in these fields.

A specialised thematic dictionary is a source of qualified scientific information. Its aim is to promote understanding of the scientific content related to the areas of teaching and research in Political Science and International Relations, by identifying and conceptualising more or less complex themes that cut across the two disciplines.

With over a thousand entries and the collaboration of around a hundred specialists (university professors, researchers and politicians) from various Portuguese and foreign universities and research units, including political scientists, sociologists, philosophers, jurists, historians, geographers, psychologists and anthropologists, it seeks to cover the entire multidisciplinary spectrum of Political Science and International Relations, namely Philosophy, Sociology, Comparative Politics, Public Administration, the organisation of the State and its systems, Human Rights and political practice, with entries on political currents, doctrines, institutions and processes, international organisations, theories, research methodologies and many other areas of interest to teachers, students and the general public.

We would therefore like to invite all to the launch session of this book, to be held on 20 May at 6pm in the auditorium of the Fernando Pessoa University (Praça de 9 de Abril 349, 4249-004 Porto).

The launch session will be open to all. For logistical reasons, attendance must be confirmed via our email address (cepese@cepese.pt) by 15 May.
