2nd International Congress on Humanitarian Action and Development Co-operation
The II CIAHCD, which will serve as a meeting point for the Lusophone debate on human rights in the context of humanitarian aid and development cooperation in the 21st century, will be organised through the Zoom platform between 6 and 9 June 2022. Forty experts from Brazil, Portugal, Cape Verde, Angola and Galicia, but also from other countries (France, the United States, etc.), will present fundamental ideas on the various challenges of humanitarian action and development cooperation. Some themes will be highlighted, such as the 2030 Agenda, the armed conflict in Ukraine and the role of Portuguese-speaking countries. The II CIAHCD will provide a transversal perspective on the problems, bringing together the various humanities and social sciences on the phenomenon of international co-operation and humanitarian action in the present. It will include representatives from different fields: jurists, political scientists, economists, sociologists, journalists, as well as political representatives, human rights activists and representatives from the world of culture.
The event will be organised via Zoom, with exclusive access for those registered. Speeches at the conference can be recorded, but not debates. Registration includes a certificate of participation.
The congress is an initiative of IGADI (https://www.igadi.gal/web/) and CEPESE, and has the strategic partnership of Fernando Pessoa University, as well as the support of a network of institutions and organisations: Porto Municipal Council, the Regional Coordination and Development Commission - North of Portugal, the Xunta de Galicia, the Deputación de Pontevedra, UNESCO Chair 812 (Catholic University of Brasilia), CERES (Centre for the Study of International Relations), PUCPR (Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná), and the Together Network.
