Book launch: "Bragança. Das origens à Revolução Liberal de 1820"
As part of the 555th anniversary celebrations of Bragança's elevation to city status, and with over a hundred guests, the ceremony featured speeches by Dr. Hernâni Dias, Mayor of Bragança, Prof. Fernando de Sousa, President of CEPESE, and Prof. Adriano Moreira, one of Portugal's most eminent and recognized intellectuals.
Coordinated by Fernando de Sousa and involving several researchers, this two-volume work covers the history of Bragança from its prehistoric origins to the Liberal Revolution of 1820. It examines various interrelated dimensions—social, political, economic, demographic, administrative, religious, cultural, artistic, and urban. Alongside the two volumes already published by CEPESE in 2012, titled "Bragança in the Contemporary Era", this completes the first comprehensive history of Bragança from its origins to the present day, serving as a crucial resource for current and future generations.
